IN IT TO WIN IT!
“I’M IN IT TO WIN IT.” That’s how Pauline Raven describes her decision to run for the job of Mayor of Kings County in the election this October.
Raven has a strong background in local government grounded in eight years as a Kings County Councillor. “All my years in the thick of things on county council convinced me of one thing,” says Raven, “namely, that we have all we need to do even better—if we have the will. I have that will.”
“Peter Muttart started us off on our new era of leadership by an elected Mayor,” says Raven. “As your Mayor, I can and will move us forward with the strong, decisive and always inclusive leadership I am known for.”
“Hard-working people are crucial to good government,” says Raven. “At the local level, a Mayor who will roll up their sleeves to get things done makes all the difference. Peter Muttart proved that.”
“I’m eager to get started by using my professional skills and adding to my history as a hard-working champion of everyday people.”

Two Challenges
As I step into this race for the position of Mayor, I present two challenges to other candidates.
First: I propose that we all refrain from using lawn signs. Let’s be honest, they are simply eyesores and also bad for the environment, since plastics are fossil fuel hogs. As leaders, we should always be mindful of our environmental impact.
Second: I invite all candidates for Mayor to join me in a debate sometime after Labour Day Weekend, but before the first polling day on October 10th. Let’s reach out to our neighbours to discuss our visions and plans for the future of our community with the people who are that community.
